So i thought i would go back in time a little and write about the day Brooklyn came into our lives. After serveral doctor appointments and the depressing news that my body was not getting any closer to having my baby, i decided i might as well go to mutual that week. We were heading up to scout mountain for a dinner and some games. I think i had all the leaders freaked out that i would go into labor on the mountain because i had people giving me their chairs, their jackets and getting me my food and whatever else they thought i might need. After only an hour or so i started not to feel very well and was anxious to get home. So my mom, who is also the YW President, took me and a couple of the girls home. The ride was extremely bumpy. My mom must have been more worried about getting me home than Going Slow! (Sorry mom) But she did something right because within an hour my water broke. We decided to go up to the hospital about midnight. which was the beginning of a very long night and day of no progression. You would figure since it was my 4th that things would happen a little quicker. BUT THEY DIDN"T. Finally at 5 o'clock we came to the conclusion that a c-section was probably going to be the best option. My mom said she got quite a kick out of watching Ryan's eyes pop out of his head while he was getting ready. I think he was pretty nervous. :) Within in about 15 minutes the baby was born. And within another 2 minutes she had stopped breathing. It was pretty chaotic for a while. No one could figure out why she would suddenly stop breathing when her stats had been really good throughout the whole day.
It was the scariest 1/2 hour of my life. All i could see was that she wasn't moving or crying anymore and the nurses were all rushing around in a "calm panick". they rushed her to PICU and i didn't know anything until 1/2 hour later when i was in the recovery room. During that 1/2 hour i did alot of pleading with my Heavenly Father to not take her away from me. Lets just say i was having a hard time keeping my composure when i finally got to hold her in my arms an hour later. There aren't words to describe how thankful i was. Now she is 3 months old and as perfect as can be. :)
Wow!! What a story. I'm am glad that Brooklyn is okay. We need to come up and see her. We are sorry that we couldn't make it to the blessing. We had our Primary Program practice that Sunday and our President was in Hawaii. We love you guys and miss you. Congratulations on a beautiful baby!!
